Gamers Alert: Gore Verbinski to Bring BioShock to Film

To the delight of every alter ego on the planet “Rapture” - the world underneath the sea in “BioShock” will come to life when Gore Verbinski, director of “The Ring” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” steps into the Gamers Zone. Forget the “Final Fantasy” and “Dune” film fiascoes: Xbox lovers can hardly wait for this 360 shooter to hit the screen.
Thanks to Strauss Zelnick, the chairman of Take-Two, a partnership between Universal Studios and Gore Verbinski has been announced. The deal will bring one of the most highly acclaimed titles of interactive entertainment to film in all of its cinematic glory. John Logan will write the screenplay. Logan’s credits include “Sweeney Todd,” “Gladiator” and “The Aviator.”
